This one's credible - but only from a distance

The whole thing is so shoddy that it's almost impossible to write about. You end up feeling like the idiot.

It's also impossible to write about because here one piece of shoddiness flows inseparably, through countless infinite dimensions, into the next piece of shoddiness. And what did the infinite number of neighboring pieces of shoddiness do wrong, that I'm not writing about them?

Take Transtelex's current editorial. In it, the editor-in-chief vents his enormous frustration that for almost a month now he hasn't received an answer from the RMDSZ (the Alliance of Hungarians in Romania) to the questions he's been aggressively pushing about their "Stop, Cheater!" campaign.

And while he's feverishly typing all this up so he can finally publish it, he simultaneously posts another opinion piece. An opinion piece that, as luck would have it, is signed by none other than Mátyás Horváth Kovács, the RMDSZ face of the "Stop, Cheater!" campaign. you can check for yourself, it's kept right under the editorial, consistently in second place.

Would the dear reader have guessed that this twist would happen?

And if he does notice, where's his sense? Why does he let it pass without a word?

-----

I'm already embarrassed to ask the question.

If the author is really frustrated that he got no answer from the RMDSZ, why doesn't he ask Mátyás Horváth Kovács, who just happens to be dropping by, why they aren't getting an answer?

Why is he putting on this act? I'm about to lose my mind.

He could even cite what Mátyás Horváth Kovács wrote in his own article!

Why does he instead choose, once again without a word, to dutifully run the RMDSZ's next covert campaign, which arrives right on schedule, no different from the previous ones, and about which, as an absolute first, he has practically admitted that it too is a farce?

Oh, right, because as far as we're concerned, they can get away with it.
