Putin's Criminal Network in Orbán's Immediate Neighborhood
A kiindulópontot kábítószer-kereskedelemből származó készpénz jelenti, a forrásanyagok pedig két elkülönült esetről tesznek említést: az egyikben vietnami heroin, a másikban kolumbiai kokain szerepel - ebből a kolumbiai szálat az angol felügyelet dokumentumaival illusztrálják. Ez a készpénz fizikai formában – bőröndökben – érkezett a BP Remit londoni irodájába. Londonból a pénzt illegálisan Törökországba szállították, ahol kriptovalutává konvertálták, ami ezt követően „fintech-befektetésnek" álcázva tért vissza a rendszerbe. Az így tisztára mosott pénz aztán Szíriába áramlott, ahol az Aszad-rezsim és kurdisztáni ISIS-csoportok finanszírozására használták fel. A 2021 tavaszán feltárt útvonalat a brit rendőrség azonosította és dokumentálta, az eset vélhetően nem független az ekkor Amerikában lezajlott nyomozás tényétől sem, ahol az Ekaterina Zhdanova által irányított és Smart kriptovaluta-hálózat révén megvalósított, több milliárd dollárnyi összeget kitevő pénzmosási akciót derítettek fel a nyomozók. Arról az esetről többek között a teljes nemzetközi sajtó is beszámolt, mi most a BBC hivatkozását hagyjuk itt nektek. Megjegyzendő, hogy a török kriptó szál a Masa nevű elrabolt ukrán kislány eladása körüli tranzakciók vitája során is előkerül.
