It seems it's none of our business what RMDSZ agreed with Niculescu

Is it only us here at Ugar who find it strange that the text of the agreement signed yesterday by Hunor Kelemen and Luca Niculescu is nowhere to be found?

We did look for it, both yesterday and today.

We searched for it on the D.A.H.R.Monopoly D.A.H.R.Communist D.A.H.R.Party's website, on the homepage and in the appropriate box as well — but there was nothing anywhere.

Surely we're just old-fashioned, looking for it on the official website — we thought — maybe the honorable lawmakers posted the link on Facebook! But it's nowhere there either, not on RMDSZ's official page, nor on Hunor Kelemen's, not in a post, not in any comment attached to any post.

Interesting.

And nobody misses it.

Yet every major Romanian Hungarian news outlet reported on the agreement, exactly as RMDSZ had envisioned. And nobody cares that the Monopoly Party doesn't bother informing voters of the text of the agreement?

Can we imagine the majority's politicians doing the same thing to the Romanian press, to Romanian public opinion, to the public — not publishing the government program, just posing for photos with it? Of course not.

Can we imagine that if this did happen, nobody would object to it?

Yet, from a constitutional-law perspective, at the level of Romania's Hungarian community, the current agreement is equivalent to a government program, since RMDSZ holds a monopoly position guaranteed by law. There is only one of it, just like a government, with a budget and authority. The same status that the all-powerful Romanian Communist Party once had under the former regime.

With a loyal press.

Is it only us here at the UgarUgar who find it strange that RMDSZ hastily signs a follow-up agreement days after Niculescu's government program was made public? Moreover, from the statements, it seems that the government program — which Niculescu committed to not at RMDSZ's request, but unilaterally — contains more minority-protection guarantees than the RMDSZ-Niculescu agreement... So how does that work?

Shouldn't it have been pointed out that the state communication agency called RMDSZ is just chasing after events?

Shouldn't it have been pointed out, dear colleagues and dear "opposition figures," that RMDSZ had five and a half months at its disposal to work out its own position on which Hungarian cause it wished to represent in the coalition or government-formation negotiations, and on what it would not budge?

Shouldn't RMDSZ have been hounded about this issue in recent months? To finally work out its position and make it public? Shouldn't specific cases have been demanded of them? After all, forests have been renationalized here...

Shouldn't they have been thoroughly taken to task because they campaign in the classroom, while failing to notice the problems that you received a pile of money from the Orbán government to research?

Wouldn't that have been your job, instead of the empty-headed fawning over Zoltán Tarr?

And on top of that, how did it escape notice that these children study geography in Romanian? Municipalities with a smaller Hungarian population than Luduș (Marosludas) manage to solve this... But apparently, from some vantage point, this still counts as collective capacity to act.

Why is it more important for RMDSZ to finally be good friends with the governing party in Hungary again than whether they are actually working for our interests in Romania? Especially for you, who didn't like it when they were friends with the previous Hungarian government?

We heard, from you no less, that we live in Romania, and that we shouldn't be dancing the tango-cha-cha-cha in Budapest...
