Turkish Korkut air defense systems tested in Ukraine
In early 2026 Turkey delivered a small quantity of Korkut air defense systems to Ukraine, where they were used against Russian attack drones and cruise missiles, Middle East Eye reported, citing several sources familiar with the matter. Those who spoke to the publication did not reveal the exact size of the shipment; the report was also covered by the Ukrainian outlet Babel and the Czech Britské listy.
An Ukrainian official who requested anonymity told Middle East Eye that the system had been fairly successful in fending off Russian attacks, and that problems arising during use had been resolved with minor modifications. He added that Ukraine was also interested in acquiring additional Korkut systems, provided an agreement on price could be reached with the supplier.

The Korkut family of weapons, manufactured by Aselsan, offers gun-based air defense solutions, and the manufacturer lists drones and cruise missiles among the targets it can counter. However, the report on its use in Ukraine does not include detailed battlefield results or an officially disclosed number of units delivered, so for now the only information on the possibility of further purchases comes from the official who spoke to the publication.
