Ukrainian negotiating delegation to travel to the United States

A Ukrainian negotiating delegation will arrive in the United States on October 9 to discuss the continuation of diplomatic consultations and the preparation of a possible Ukrainian-American-Russian meeting – Interfax-Ukraine reported, citing a source close to the negotiating team and confirmation from the presidential office. According to RBC-Ukraine, the delegation will include David Arakhamia, Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov and Serhiy Kyslytsya.

The talks are expected to focus on accelerating diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war and on a possible framework for trilateral negotiations. Ukraine's foreign ministry has already indicated that Kyiv is ready to take part in such a meeting in October and would consider various ceasefire options, including an unconditional ceasefire along the current front line. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha previously spoke of four proposals from the United States, India, Turkey and Egypt concerning a ceasefire to protect energy infrastructure and the Black Sea region. In Kyiv's view, the energy and maritime agreements should be linked, while the delegation's current trip serves to prepare the next round of negotiations.
